Square Enix: Final Fantasy XI players will most likely be able to continue using the character names of Final Fantasy XIV.

When first announced at E3, Square Enix had mentioned that the developer team was looking for ways to name characters of Final Fantasy XI can proceed to the Final Fantasy XIV. Then, in event in Cologne GamesComp recently, producer of Final Fantasy XIV Tanaka Hiromich not dare claim that this feature would be, but make sure that Square Enix will be giving a bonus or profit for the Final Fantasy XI players.



Tanaka added forwarding the names of characters into the online game Final Fantasy's new can be a problem, but he also proposed a solution that might work, that is forcing everyone to use the last name. "Players can still have their main names, but they also can add other names behind him - with so players who have the same main name in the previous game could equally use it," Tanaka said the PlayStation Blog.

Tanaka also talked about combat system of Final Fantasy XIV - as we already know - will not be based on the job system. ARMORY FFXIV system will allow players alternated weapons and abilities throughout the game, whether it is solo or join the group. The more players using certain weapons and equipment, then the item stats will increase, making it a unique class of its own without having to "grinding" experience points.
